Starting with dark and distressed, my favorite components, I originally added the feathers in vivid pops of color, a contrast for an eye-catching composition. Dark themes can work well when paired with something bright or whimsical, but in the end, I decided a more neutral palette works well for this piece to give it a certain ‘mood’.

'ACID SPRING c2030' ©2020
I was once asked: 'do you never find joy in anything regarding the future?' Despite being typically sunny-natured, living each day in the present, I like to indulge in themes of doom and certain events have given me trust issues. Still, I like to create colorful art in doomsday themes. It's my thing.

'DRAGON WHISPERER'
©2023
A mixture of realism and surrealism, not my usual forte. I’m mainly a figurative artist and people are my favorite subjects in a ‘stylized’, romantic style. Dragon Whisperer combines deep, saturated colors with a hefty dose of exoticism this artist is known for.

'EYES WITHOUT A FACE' ©2020
The inspiration for this piece came from hearing the Billy Idol song of the same name back in 2020 and I thought, 'how apropos'. The year that will go down in history when noses, mouths and smiles became a mystery. This piece isn't meant to express pros or cons about those mask mandates, I just portray things as I observe them in my usual acerbic wit.

'ENCHANT ME' 2022
An image inspired by my love of mid-century exotic jazz a la Martin Denny and Arthur Lyman. This image is actually inspired from a Martin Denny album called Exotica...which fits well with this siren call of faraway lands.

What happens when BAE's had enough of your B.S.? Of anybody's B.S.? Of our elected leaders B.S.? Of the world's B.S.? No victim here. She's ready to take a stand against the dark and wicked. She’s ready to rock n' roll.

'OVER THE RAINBOW'S END (SHE'LL FLY)' ©2022
I love birds and I have many representations of them. They are one of God's glorious creations and He gave them the ability to fly! Above the difficulties of this world and life on the ground. Imagine that. I can't think of anything more splendid.

'SPARK' 2024
'Spark' is one of my Valentine-themed pieces. Although I'm not a romantic by nature, I enjoy making Valentine-themed art. Something about the season makes my heartstrings go zing-zing. This piece was inspired by a jazz album cover, where I find many of my inspirations.

'A HANDSOME VICTORIAN MAN' 2026
I guess this one doesn't need much explanation except, que guapo! I wanted the look and feel of this to be vintage and 'contemporary' at the same time even if the subject isn't quite contemporary.

'REFLECTIONS OF ANCIENT' ©2025
An ancient purpose, a clear reflection, serenity. In this busy, busy age with multiple distractions, let's all stop to admire and appreciate the echoes of a more gracious and peaceful era.
